Reprints

All of our reprints use a standard Observer color and font template, but are custom-designed to provide the most impact for the story or profile being reprinted.  You can click on any of several recent examples, below, to get a sense of our typical visual appeal.

We offer reprints of both individual articles from our monthly issues and full fund profiles. Reprint rates are as follows:

  • Shorter articles, such as Launch Alerts, are $500.
  • Medium length articles, like Elevator Talks, are $1,000.
  • Long articles and fund profiles are $1,500.

We offer two different sorts of full fund profile reprints:

standard reprint gives you the right to produce electronic and print copies, without limit, of the article posted online.  For long articles and fund profiles, we will work with you to provide edits to improve the profile’s style and finish, beyond those needed to correct errors of fact.  For example, we can:

  • Include a photo of the manager or management team
  • Include an iconic photo, as in the case of the Beck, Mack and Gargoyle reprints below.
  • Add a fund logo
  • Place a call-out quotation in the left margin.

Additionally, some firms have a name for their investment process or a particular phrasing for the tenets of their investment discipline (“a value focus with a tilt toward growth”) which they hope to see in all their marketing pieces.  We’ll work with you to accommodate those needs.

The standard reprint comes with up to one year of quarterly updates to your compliance disclosures.

If you need your reprint formatted for a professional digital press, our graphic designer can provide printer spreads at an additional fee.

In rare cases, additional research may be required for preparation of a reprint. In those cases, research will be discussed and billed at an hourly rate.

We are not able to offer printed copies of reprints; in general, advisors have found both better prices and better quality control when working with printers located near their headquarters.

In order to keep reprints as affordable as possible, your compliance group will need to vet the text before you share it with us so that we only need to undertake one round of edits.

The Observer’s universe encompasses many smaller or new fund advisors with limited assets.  If the cost of our reprint would place a financial strain on your firm, please contact us to discuss the options.
